Shill Bidding: Artificially Inflating Pokemon Card Price

Shill bidding is a highly illegal practice that artificially inflates the pokemon card price on auction platforms. A seller (or their friends) uses secondary accounts to place fake bids on their own high-value Pokemon cards. This creates a false sense of demand, tricking real buyers into paying a massively inflated pokemon card price. Legally, platforms ban these users, but the practice persists. To avoid paying an illegally inflated pokemon card price, set a strict maximum bid based on recent sold comparables, and never engage in bidding wars on suspicious listings.
