Trophy cards, awarded to winners of World Championships, carry an extreme pokemon card price due to their extreme rarity. Legally, the only way to obtain one is to become a world-class player and win the tournament, or buy it legitimately from a former champion. The pokemon card price for these can exceed six figures. Illegally, there have been instances of stolen trophy cards and forged tournament documents attempting to legitimize fake ones. The pokemon card price for a fake, however, is zero, and possessing stolen tournament cards is a felony.
