Friendly fraud, or chargeback fraud, is an illegal tactic where a buyer receives a legitimate, high-value Pokemon card but then lies to their credit card company, claiming the item was not delivered or was fake. The buyer gets their money back while keeping the card, effectively exploiting the system to steal it. These professional fraudsters often coordinate their attacks and resell the fraudulently acquired cards on underground forums. This illegal behavior forces sellers to raise their prices to cover the massive financial losses, directly inflating the legitimate pokemon card price for everyone else.
